IfIn order to request materials through our online catalog, patrons must be in our Millennium patron database. We are working towards regularly adding patrons with information from the College's records so that all current faculty, staff, and students will be represented in our circulation system. Unfortunately, as of August 1, quite a few students seem to not have been included.
If a patron's record does not appear in our patron database after you search by last name and barcode (ID) number, please have the patron fill out our registration form. form (or take the information from the patron if you are on the telephone). Add the information using the Medaille Patron template (medp).You can set your login to default to this each time you login:
1. Click on the "Admin" drop-down menu".
2. Select "Settings"

Now each time you click "New" to create a patron, you will be prompted with the correct fields to complete.

Now that the workflow library is live in Millenium, we are creating holdings records for control of the serials/periodicals collection. In order to be ready to setup serials our serials, creating check-in when we migrate to Innovative Interfaces, we need to evaluate and update allserials information inthe catalog, Serials Solutions, OCLC, and EbscoNet to insure cards for the proper holdings and titlesarereflected.
Steps to accomplish this:
1. Collect all lists (spreadsheets, paper documents, electronic lists from vendors).
2. Create one card file of titles of that we subscribe to. We will deal with these current subscriptions (print, electronic)
3. Create one card file for first, so that check-in can begin, and then will continue with ceased subscriptions. Overdue notices are set to run automatically everyday. Email notices are sent for each patron with an email address. Any print notices will be printed at the Buffalo library and mailed.
Title Paging Lists and Item Paging Lists
Each campus ibrary (Buffalo, Amherst, and Rochester)needs to run each of these notices each day the library is open.
Retireve all items listed in the report.
Check-in each item. An In-Transit slip or Hold slip will be printed .
In-Transit items: Ship to the library listed on the slip. Inter-office mail can be used between Buffalo and Amherst. Items coming from and going to Rochester will need to be mailed via UPS orUSPS Priority mail. Details are being worked out for this. (8/5/08)
Hold items: Place the item on your library's hold shelf alphabetically by the patron's last name.

If you load records with different UniqueIDs but the same barcode you will have two records with identical Barcodes. Be very sure to have the UniqueID and Barcode the same.
Be sure to format your phone numbers correctly, when they come out of Hyperion they will not be in any standard format. This may require significant pre-processing.
The formate format of your .csv file is:
Exp Date, PCode1, PCode2, PCode3, PType, Home Library, MBlock, PMessage, PCode4, Birth Date, Unique ID, Barcode, Patron Name, Address, Address2, Phone, Phone 2, Message, Note, Email, PIN, Pat Image, ???

Resource table set to "inactive". Link led to amazon.com and when there was no record available in Amazon, the button with the word "Elsewhere" was hanging by itself and it was thought that this was misleading. Also there is some question of how useful directing patrons out to Amazon is...
to "Toplogo" and "Toplogo_logged in" html file:
The button "Create an account" appeared under the "My Library" category when the patron was logged in. This seemed misleading so I put <!-- ... --> around the token to make it inactive.
"Suggest a purchase" link was made inactive.
Transferring files from Staging to Live
This is done in Telnet when a significant number of changes to the staging port and wish to transfer the entire directory to the live port.
